Do It Right!

Life's a cycle. A flurry one.
As infants, we lived in a subtle bubble. Only we understood why we would suck our thumbs, laugh as we stare amusingly at the ceiling and the inability to voice out in proper language, but just to resonate several baby sounds. We creep in to early childhood dealing with junk food addictions, teacher's canings, homework and the constant battle between the snaring cartoons or studying. We step into our teenage, with hormonal integration, acne, waves of emotions, and baffling the ideology of being in the shell.
Oh well. Then things get spiked up when you reach 20's. The time of our lives. To dominate the joy of university life. Obtaining the alleged key during your twenty-first birthday. Walk down the pride isle of receiving the graduation scroll. With the blink of an eye, you're a grown up now, working, and all ready to settle down.
Life goes on. You pass several clouds, some might cause turbulences, thunder storms, drizzles and at least, just cloudy days. Alternatively or occasionally, the sun will just shine in glory.
As we pass a certain age of adulthood, we tend to go back to square one. Yes, gradually loosing the grip on prudence and being a callow old man. Psychologically proven and theoretically as well, as soon as a person hits that age frame, they tend to act like a kid, but this time around, ain't that innocent anymore.
After compelling to life sins, they deliberately tangle themselves in this kid's game. They become unwise, shameless, sulk at all times, conscience slips away, and the supremacy of emotions fiddles in.
So who says listen to the elders?
Mistake we always commit. As kids, our minds were yet to develop and emotions yet to be justified. We were just puppets, and the elders were just string pullers. It's only fair for us to listen to them, and fulfil their responsibility to guide us.
The bestow of life is that, every fall, every height, every bruise, every tear, every smile has it's respective significance. It educates us. It gives us experience. The reason why we grow.
Being respectful applies to everyone of us. It's a basic upbringing that begins from home. Respect means, the sense of honour of you have for someone that makes you speak politely and behave with proper manners before them. If you don't have a lucid humanity value such as respect, then you shouldn't be in this world.
Misconception we have? We listen and obey to them in every ritual and decision blatantly due to emotions and relationship we're obliged to.
That's wrong. It's more like digging your own grave. It's not necessary that every word that spats out from an elderly person is right. It's not a guarantee that every say they make is going to make your life better. Remember, they become children again. Simply means, that their decisions are not 100% right, neither emotion-free. Also means, every behaviour of theirs shouldn't be assimilated, they might be just unmannered too.
Are they going to live your life at the end? No.
''I'm sure what they've said is for my good''.
We don't hold our lives, neither them.
Your life is a written book.
It's only fair and wise if we follow our instincts, heart and mind. Make your own decisions.
The regret won't be as painful if things goes wrong when you listen to people.
Did I say how egoistic, pathetic, rude and how they throw tantrums at everyone?
But you know what? Prove the validity of your upbringing. Know your priorities, make your say, turn them down in a respectful way and live your life. You don't loose when you percept the truth.
Loves,
Nia
